Nicholas Riverfront Conservatory (MSA Engineering) Rockford, IL LEED Silver

Part of an extensive project to revive the park along the Rock River, this project captures heat from sump drainage water, heating both the green house conservatory and adjacent visitor center. The hydrothermal system provides approximately fifty percent of the greenhouse heat, and utilizes a total energy recovery dedicated outdoor air system. This is the third largest greenhouse in Illinois, and the first greenhouse in America with a LEED silver certification.
