The 33,000 SF new building provides the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) a secure, energy efficient, technologically flexible and beautiful headquarters for at least the next 30 years. The building is a LEED-SILVER Certified office structure and is Springfield’s first official green building. The design is highly specialized for the Agency’s mission of providing affordable and reliable electric energy to its member communities across Illinois. The building incorporates a sophisticated geothermal mechanical system with heat recovery, Waste heat from the building’s data center is used to provide comfort heating for the building.
Project Responsibilities included a complete HVAC and Controls design and construction administration services for new facility.
